Several Achievements of USST Honored with Awards for 2019 Science and Technology in Shanghai

On the morning of May 19th, a conference for the 2019 Science and Technology Award in Shanghai was held in the Central Hall of the Shanghai Exhibition Center, in order to award those scientific and technological workers for their extraordinary devotion to scientific and technological innovation and social and economic development in Shanghai. A total of 7 achievements were bestowed on USST. USST won: Awards for 2019 Science and Technology in Shanghai, and the award grades hit the best in school history.
Among these awards, projects led by USST achieved two awards for the First Prize and three awards for the Third Prize. Two projects which USST teachers participated in respectively won First and Second Prizes.

Professor Liu Ping and his team were honored with the First Prize for 2019 Science and Technology Award in Shanghai, with a project called ‘A Key Technology and Its Industrialization of High-Performance Copper-Alloy Contact Wires Used in High-Speed Rails’. Likewise, Professor Zhang Dawei and his team were honored with the First Prize with their project— ‘Research and Production and Engineering Development of High-Performance Optical Spectrum Instruments and High-Precision Key Components’. Awards for the Second Prize for the 2019 Science and Technology in Shanghai was led by USST and are as follows. Associate Professor Qi Yingxia led her team and finished the project called ‘Research and Application of Key Technologies on A New Generation of Environmental R290/R35 Refrigeration Systems and Facilities’ and won the Second Prize. Professor Yu Hongliu led his team and finished the item called ‘Key Technologies and Application of Smart Dynamic-Controlled Electromyographic Bionic Hands’ and won the Second Prize. Professor Zheng Qizhen led his team and finished the item ‘Key Technologies and Application of High-Performance Linkage of Prefabricated Structures based on Ultra-High-Performance Materials’ and won the Second Prize.

Professor Lichun, of Shanghai Jiaotong University and etc. jointly completed the project called ‘Key Technologies and Application of Wind Turbines Flow Control and Performance Improvements’ and won the First Prize.Likewise, Professor Zheng Qizhen, together with Shanghai Construction No. 2 (Group) Co., Ltd, completed ‘Expanding Construction and Engineering Application of Underground Space of Existing Urban Complex’ and won the Second Prize.
A total of 308 projects and people were honored with awards for the 2019 Science and Technology accolades in Shanghai. The seven awards USST achieved embodied the excellent fruits of USST’s construction of a high-level local university. The number of projects awarded the First Prize ranked first among local universities in Shanghai.
