Focusing on Four Aspects and Preparing for Scientific Research Challenge

On November 1st, School of Environment and Architecture launched the first academic lecture of the activities of Scientific Research and Talent Cultivation salon in 2022. At the invitation of Vice Dean Wang Lihui, Shi Wenjian, a retired and renowned professor of the College, delivered a special report for nearly 70 faculty members of the college on Perspectives Related to the Award Application Project of the Natural Science and Technology Progress Award. The lecture was hosted by Huang Yuandong, dean of the college, and was conducted online and offline.

Professor Huang Yuandong introduced Professor Shi Wenjian's research direction and extensive experience in award review, and encouraged scientific researchers to actively undertake major projects to promote the development of the college's disciplines.

Professor Shi Wenjian closely focused on the topics of major projects, the depth and breadth of research content, the acquisition of research results, the transformation and promotion of research results, and the application of major awards, and analyzed the implementation points of different awards one by one from the professional perspectives of experts. Through abundant and detailed cases, the lecture systematically explains the complete implementation process of major scientific research projects and the key points, profound connotation and social economic significance of the application of award projects. Professor Shi emphasized that the research process of major projects needs tremendous hard work. He encouraged scientific researchers to work together and make arrangements as early as possible, focusing more on such major issues as facing the world's scientific and technological frontier, facing the main battlefield of the economy, facing the major needs of the country, and facing the people's wellbeing.

The report lasted for more than 2 hours. Vice Dean Wang Lihui expressed her heartfelt thanks to Professor Shi's report, and encouraged faculties to take science and technology reward application as a starting point, cultivating and evolving oneself while serving the greatness of the country through scientific research. The participants said that the lecture content was very instructive for future scientific and technological work and award application.

This lecture has greatly enhanced the department’s scientific research atmosphere, and thanks again for the experienced professors represented by Professor Shi Wenjian for their concern, dedicated help and support for the growth of young researchers and the development of the college.
